The Challenge

As part of the initiative taken by the Egyptian government to achieve a fully functional e-government, the Egyptian Electric Regulatory and Consumer protection has detected a problem where all their daily transactions and business processes happened manually which in turn gave birth to a huge and growing problem of managing the ever increasing documents. Due to huge consumption of space and slow document retrieval process, they detected the need for electronic document management and process automation system.

The Solution

ASSET has been awarded by taking this project to deliver an Enterprise Content and Process Management system. Our objective was not only to implement a document management system, but also to design their document management strategy. Initially ASSET consultants studied the document types, nature, security considerations, retrieval requirements as well as business processes. Based on this, we put together the strategy for document archival, organization, data entry and retrieval. Having the strategy put in place, ASSET consultants sized the project and studied all hardware and software requirements. Finally, ASSET was responsible for managing the overall project implementation. Besides, we managed the conversion of over 50 thousand of physical documents of their backlog into the system.

The Results

After using the Enterprise Content and Process Management system, the Egyptian Electric Regulatory and Consumer protection is using successfully more than by 25 concurrent users accessing and processing different types of documents.
