Full Text Retrieval
With Jupiter’s full text retrieval (FTR), organizations can locate enterprise
contents, not only by their keywords, but also by the text they contain.
Jupiter’s FTR supports different formats of textual documents; text, html,
MS Excel, MS Word, XML, Rich Text Format and Acrobat PDF format. All these formats
are supported in both English and Arabic, which indicates one of Jupiter’s
main points of uniqueness being the first and only FTR engine that supports Arabic
PDF so far.
Jupiter supports a variety of Full Text Search techniques, the most straightforward
of which is the exact search, allowing users to locate the same word(s) that they
are looking for. Jupiter’s Proximity search gives users the ability to specify
how close the words he/she is looking for should be. A more advanced search capability
of Jupiter FTR, is the stemming of Arabic words, which results in widening the search
base by retrieving the linguistically relevant words. For example, searching for
the word “حكم” will have a document containing “حكومات”
in the search results. Jupiter FTR also, has embedded thesaurus for searching for
word using their synonyms.
The indexing and retrieval processes in Jupiter FTR are characterized by their very
high performance. Jupiter indexing is proccessed on-line; no offline index
rebuilding is required. So once a document is stored into the system, it gets automatically
indexed and is available for retrieval within few minutes, if not seconds.
The Full Text retrieval component is integrated with Jupiter Document Management
allowing users to search within their document or the comments put on them. Searching
using a combination of document keywords, contents and comments is also possible.
Jupiter FTR engine can also be made available in the form of a standalone product
with a rich set of APIs to be used for building Databanks and text-based business
application.
